Inthe first half of2013, freight transport volumes continued todecline: total freight volumes were at606 mlntn (down 3.6% y-o-y), while freight turnover was at1,069 bln tkm (down 2.9% y-o-y), representing adecline of22.8 mln tnand 32.3 bln tkm, respectively.

In May 2013 the decline continued in rail freight traffic (-3.4% or down 3.7 mln tonnes) and turnover (-1.2%) compared to May 2012. In addition to previous drivers (oil products and grain), construction cargoes contributed to the decline.
